The
Directorate of Field Publicity (HQ)
receives feedback on regular basis
in the form of Monthly Performance
Report (MPR) about the field
activities of its 22 Regional
Offices located all over the
country. Various publicity
activities taken up by the concerned
units in their respective areas are
given in the MPRs. Publicity
campaign generally aim to create
awareness among the public, rural
folk in particular on various
National issues and schemes,
designed for the benefit of the poor
and common man. The programmes are
planned meticulously to involve all
sections of people so that the
information can be disseminated
effectively to all target audience.
While organizing information
campaigns, Units give utmost
priority to tribal areas, Naxal and
terrorist affected villages, hill
terrain; border areas and remote
villages by involving Self-Help
Groups, villages elders, social
workers, health workers, and tribal
etc., DFP units strive to reach
public with innovative and
informative communication methods.
In order to give maximum publicity
to Government schemes, DFP adopts
various methods like inter-personal
communications, film shows, photo
exhibitions, live shows with song &
drama artists and so on. During the
information campaigns, DFP units
give more emphasis on several
flagship programmes of the
Government and other schemes being
implemented for the uplift of the
common man viz. NRHM, RTI, AIDS,
NRGEP, Rural Development programmes
etc.
Special programmes, photo exhibitions and
group discussions were the forte of DFP
units during the period under review. This
reflects in achieving more than the targets
fixed for the quarter in respect of photo
exhibition and special programmes. The
public response was good to the above
programmes where all sections of people
including people’s representatives, women,
specially challenged persons and youth
participated in large number. People showed
keen interest in watching exhibitions
consisting of various developmental
activities of the government. Programme
publicity activities which includes
seminars/symposia/
debate/elocution/essay/quiz/painting/drawing/slogan/rural
sports/rallies/baby shows/public meetings
drew the attention of the public. Large
number of people participated in the
programmes and exchanged their views on
various government schemes. They expressed
satisfaction over the implementation of the
schemes such as NREGP, RTI & Rural
Developmental programmes.
Short fall in other items goes mainly due to
shortage of field staff and vehicles which
affects the mobility and performance of the
field units. Also due to non availability
of publicity material from client Ministry,
publicity activities were adversely
affected.
